Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1/4 cup green onions, sliced

1 clove garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Hamburger buns

Lettuce, tomato slices, and other desired toppings

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, green onions, minced garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet.

Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F). If desired, you can add additional cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns in a separate pan or on a griddle until golden brown.

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun and adding any desired toppings like lettuce, tomato, and even avocado or a special sauce.

Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve hot.
