Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, sliced into thick rounds

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Chopped walnuts or pecans (for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to foam.

Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir until combined and the mixture becomes a syrupy consistency.

Carefully add the banana slices to the skillet, ensuring they are in a single layer.

Cook the bananas for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to caramelize and develop a golden brown color.

Gently flip the banana slices and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the other side is equally golden.

Pour in the vanilla extract and toss the bananas gently to coat in the syrupy mixture.

Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the bananas to a serving plate.

Drizzle the remaining sauce from the skillet over the bananas and sprinkle with chopped nuts and fresh mint leaves for garnish.
