At the heart of the Mozzarella Pepperoni Croissant Rolls lie two key ingredients that define their flavor: mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Mozzarella cheese is renowned for its creamy texture and mild flavor, making it an ideal melting cheese. When heated, mozzarella becomes wonderfully gooey, binding all the ingredients together and providing a luscious mouthfeel. Its subtle taste allows it to complement the bolder flavors of pepperoni without overpowering them.

Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles as per the perforations.

Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assemble the Rolls: On each crescent triangle, place a tablespoon of the cheese and pepperoni mixture at the wide end. Roll the dough from the wide end towards the tip, making sure to tuck in the sides as you roll to enclose the filling.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the rolled croissants onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush each roll with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish while baking.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
