Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.

Add garlic and seasonings: Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat. Add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Combine BBQ sauce: In a small bowl, mix together honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef in the skillet.

Simmer: Stir to coat the beef evenly. Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, so the flavors can meld together.

Prepare tortillas: While the beef is simmering, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until soft and pliable.

Assemble tacos: Layer the beef mixture onto each warmed tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheddar cheese.

Garnish and serve: Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top and serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra kick.
